I've never had this much beard before. It took about two months to grow this thick and long I think. Now the experiment is over. Tomorrow the scissors come out.

The camera is pointing to a small mirror, "looking back" at me and the Canon EOS 1Ds3 with which I am shooting this photo. I hadn't anticipated the second small circular image of myself in the larger square one. Here is a crop of the portrait-part :

This is turning out to be camera-portrait-week. The camera is the first digital camera I owned. 3.1 megapixels, and 3 x optical zoom. It cost as much then as a good prosumer DLSR does now. It survived a trip into a small stream once. It was submerged for a few seconds so it pretty much filled up with water. We hung it up to dry over our fireplace in our cabin. After that we strapped it on to RC planes and all sorts of stuff. Still works though. Perhaps a candidate for a "traveling crappy camera" like this : www.flickr.com/groups/thetravelingcrappylens/
