On Saturday, I decided to head out with Mel Sinclair to find some storms out West. Predictions had been for a severe day. We saw a front coming from Warwick and decided to head that way using the radar only - by luck we decided that going over Cunningham's Gap would be a bad choice and instead headed around Lake Moogerah. Here it caught up to us and it intensified over the mountains. Staying well back we decided to head away from the storm and watch from a distance. It continued on its path to eventually come straight through the Brisbane CBD where it dumped heavy rain, hail and produced a nice rainbow afterwards.
After the storm passed Mt Coot-tha we decided to head to Nudgee Beach and have a look for some lightning. Not much luck. However, it did provide with an opportunity to be able to try out my new Singh Ray Gold and Blue Polariser. Not sure of the results! The colours are a bit crazy but interesting nonetheless - a filter I'll need to work out how to use best.
