Improvisational Quilts
A series of quilts, freely pieced, often with medallion centers. They include many fabrics, many of which are recycled: linen, silk, cottons, hand-dyes, hand-prints, bleach discharged, etc. All include some and sometimes extensive hand-embroidery, reminiscent of Victorian crazy quilts. Large enough to be used as lap/couch quilts, they land somewhere between traditional quilts and art quilts. All about 45-inches wide and 60-65 inches long. Linen is all recycled--leftovers from clothing manufacture.
