Climbing Out Of The Col

The ascent out of the Cornell-Slide col is steep. Actually probably the most technical of any Catskill climb, and one of the few places on a trail in the Catskills you might need an ice axe in winter.

This traverse Aim is doing is over about a 15 foot drop, and the ledge is wider than it looks but only about 6 inches. She chose to traverse all the way across and go up the slab rather than climb the crack in the foreground of the first few images. Either option was more technical than your typical hike but also added to the fun.
