Me Photographing You Photographing The Falls

Being by an hour or two the first person at the park Monday morning I had the place to myself for quite a while. However, in contrast with my day of shooting Sunday at Robert Tremen State Park, this lone photographer actually added to my photo.

As you can see, Taughannock Falls is very tall, 215 feet tall to be exact, and the highest single vertical drop fall east of the Rockies. It is 33 feet higher than Niagara Falls.

However, Niagara Falls isn't the tallest or widest falls in the world, it just pumps the most volume of water over it's precipices out of any falls in North America. As you can see, Taughannock Falls is merely a trickle most months of the year.

Well, despite an early start the light never got interesting, the over cast day had no special qualities and all my images were dull and dreary. And of course the foliage was about a week behind peak which is better than a week past peak, but not as good as peak.
