Loneliness or solitude?

Loneliness or solitude?

“Language... has created the word "loneliness" to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word "solitude" to express the glory of being alone.”

Paul Tillich (German born American Theologian and Philosopher, whose discussions of God and faith illuminated and bound together the realms of traditional Christianity and modern culture. 1886-1965)

Nothing is boring

Nothing is boring

No place is boring, if you've had a cup of coffee and have enough time and a big picture card.

Joyeux anniversaire, Juliette Greco!

Joyeux anniversaire, Juliette Greco!

Juliette Gréco is a French actress and popular chanson singer. She was born in Montpellier – South France.
She became involved in the Résistance, and was caught but not deported because of her young age. She moved to Saint-Germain-des-Prés in 1946, where she became a devotee of the bohemian fashion of some intellectuals of post-war France.
A famous description of Gréco is that her voice "encompasses millions of poems". She was known to many of the writers and artists working in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Boris Vian.
Gréco spent the post liberation years frequenting the Saint Germain cafes, immersing herself in political and philosophical Bohemian culture.
Greco became acquainted with Miles Davis and Jean Cocteau, even being given a role in Cocteau’s film Orphée in 1949. That same year, she began a new singing career.

I spent many happy hours viewing her films and especially listening to her great chansons. For me she is one of the best and most remarkable artists in the world.

Today she celebrates her 85th birthday.
Listen to her famous song “Déshabillez-Moi” (Undress me)

Georg Danzer (1946 - 2007) was an Austrian singer and songwriter.
Many of his songs are performed in Viennese German.
Besides his music he translated two books from Spanish into German, and was strongly involved in highlighting social inequalities, opposing racism and any form of societal discrimination, and the lifestyle of the bourgeoisie for all his life.
Danzer was romantic, funny, socially engaged - and often a misfit. Having been a strong smoker for decades, he abstained from smoking after being diagnosed with lung cancer, but nevertheless died from the disease.
His legacy includes some 400 songs.
I miss him.

Valentine is near…. time of love.
Everybody is showing his love, flowers are given, sweets are brought, words of love are whispered, kisses are given,…

I´m a homo ludens. Sometimes I have to play with Photoshop. And so I created this snail in love.
Hope you enjoy it…
