Henri Cartier-Bresson in Vienna

Henri Cartier-Bresson in Vienna

Henri Cartier-Bresson - the personification of modern photography - is presented in an exhibition in Kunsthaus, Vienna
17 November 2011 - 26 February 2012
The exhibition takes us on a journey into Cartier-Bresson’s photographic cosmos, presenting 214 photos taken by him over a period of five decades in three highly dissimilar countries – the USA, India and the Soviet Union – during important phases of their history.
Henri Cartier-Bresson influenced generations of photographers through the aesthetic of his prolific photographic oeuvre and his penetrating thoughts on the theory and practice of photography.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser was the designer of Kunst Haus Wien, where this exhibition is presented.

Snowfall

Snowfall

This beautiful music of the Manhattan Transfer's Christmas Album "Snowfall” came into my mind, when I walked through a little village near my home today. There I found this lovely view.

Winter Song

Winter Song

They say that things just cannot grow
Beneath the winter snow,
Or so I have been told.

Listen to the lovely Winter Song performed by Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson

Austrian facades - number 43

Austrian facades - number 43

Almost all facades in my town are ancient and full of history.
I live in an old medieval town (founded around 1220) that stood at crossroads of the salt and iron trade route during the Middle Ages from the Danube to Bohemia. The outer and inner walls, towers and gates of the old city, built mainly between 1363 and 1393 still exist today.
It´s a pleasure to live here. Especially photographers enjoy this medieval jewel.
