Intensely reading the newspaper in Addis Ababa

    This picture of newspaper readers on the streets of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia was taken by one of my students in the MA Programme in Journalism at Addis Ababa University, namely Joseph Girmay. The newspapers have been an important but scarce source of information in the politically unstable situation in Ethiopia since the general elections in May 2005.
