from the hike last fall where i found this aster, these trees were scorched by a forest fire some years ago. even though they're not green or lush (or alive, even), they help compose one of the most beautifully unique places i've ever been.

You captured the beauty that still lives in these poor burnt-out giants. Nice of you to give them the respect and attention they still deserve.

Excellent composition! There is something cinematographic about this shot .... The title works very well with the image.

Wow. Wow. I like this a lot! The grey tones, the clouds, the sense of dying yet still the new grass growing green under the trees. Great shot.

oh my sisters evergreen, what happened?? Like they shook off the needles, zipped their jackets and left it by their roots... grotesque and majestic, strong one

Nice find and good to remember that burned forest is not a 'graveyard' but a place where new life is born.
