Stand development is a technique wherein you simply avoid agitating your developer. It is apparently a great method for taming excessively high contrast and expanding your tonal range. Typically, highly diluted developers are used for times in excess of one hour.

Interesting....I think I will have to mark that one down and give it a whirl sometime. Btw, is this a print or a scan from neg?

This is a negative scan (Epson V700). I'm hoping to get enough materials together for my own darkroom in the coming months, and I think this may be a prime candidate for print testing.

Great Info Dan. Havent know about stand development. I normaly use HC110 with acros.
Is it working with other developers or just rodinal?

I've seen semi-stand development with HC-110 (so, 3 or more minutes between agitations) but that's not to say it's impossible to do full stand development. Rodinal is most often used because you can dilute it down so much - I've even seen 1+200 and 1+300 dilutions - and it's not that active anyway. So it's well-suited for the long times of stand development.
