Space Shuttle Enterprise
The first Space Shuttle, Enterprise, is a full scale craft that was designed for atmospheric testing and never flew in space (Columbia was the first Space Shuttle craft to fly in space). The Shuttle is a component of the Space Transportation System, or STS, now seen as aging and limited.

Aging and limited maybe, but it still does the heavy lifting and is one impressive machine. Even Project Constellation, the next big thing, won't be able to do what the shuttle can, which is why they have to wait to finish the ISS to retire it.
