when I was a little girl with pigtails, my grandmother used the pattern for a teapot cozy so that I could wear a hat AND have pigtails-it was very much like the stripey green one in the second row! cool hats!

Hey, thanks everyone!! Note: In august next year my knitted hats book will be published all across USA (and I think also Canada), so..., spread the word, everyone!! In the book you will find a whole lot of unique portraits and hats, and fifty of these hats will have pattern and chart so that you can make the hats yourself:-)
