doesn't this frontpage address exactly those people who allowed the situation to develop that far? and what does america expect from congress? what will be the price to pay for the industry? lay offs in the management? will they have to develop greener cars? i'd really like to know, 'cause we have the same demands over here (germany).

Prof Stoll: These are all good questions, of course. And the ramifications are far-reaching. The green(er) cars are on their way. The Volt is an especially exciting project to watch develop. But none of it will matter without more accountability at the highest levels, and longer-range planning. Oddly, the auto industry and (American) newspaper industry find themselves in similar situations at the same time -- I keep hoping to hear about that other bailout ;(

Bold design. I really wish I could read this. I went looking for a copy today but just couldn't find one. Any chance you can send me a high res pic so I can blow it up to read the text?
This whole bailout business is crazy/scary stuff.
