Forsythia 'Meadowlark'

This is an extremely hardy new variety. Hardy in zones 3-8. The only Forsythia to be reliably hardy in Northern Vermont. Other varieties survive but bloom very poorly--only around the snow protected bases. This is also the only variety this hardy, to have the tall, upright, arching form of the less hardy ones.

I planted this a few years ago and took a couple of branches last week to force into bloom inside.

I'm going to have to try that. Whatever variety I have won't bloom, I guess because we are too cold. I just looks straggly and ugly.

Hey there!! You're not allowed to have Forsythia before we do! What's going one here? Wish folks around here had planted some of that kind. You have taken an excellent picture of you early bloomer.

Do I detect some very clever sideways tipping of the camera to achieve that lovely angling of the stalks across the photo ?
What an appropriate foreground blossom as a symbol for Easter
