Man glaubt es kaum, aber in Bielefeld gibt es sogar so etwas wie eine
Stadtautobahn. Das Ganze ist nicht besonders lang und trägt den Namen
Ostwestfalendamm. Dieser endet an einem Ende (dem hier abgelichteten)
in den Ostwestfalentunnel.

Bielefeld is a little big or big little city in north western Germany. I tries
to look like a big city, they even built a short city-autobahn. This
photo is taken on one end of this autobahn.

Jo, bestimmt sehr nett. Das würde das entsprechende Fahrzeug vermutlich durch den roten Blitz halbeingefrohren auf dem Bild erscheinen.

I dunno, I think you should add this picture to a few more groups.
It's okay, but as a pyrotechnic shot I kind of want it to say something; why this photo? What makes it different from any other photo just like it. I like the composition but it's totally impersonal and devoid of content for me.

@Pim Rupert: As English is not my native language - do you mean "a tiny bit original" in terms of "the original" or "originally" ? And by the way, "the autobahn cliche" does not fit at all. Our autobahns ar normally straight and have hardly any hard turns/curves.
@tarintowers: what's exactly wrong with posting to many groups? And, sure it is impersonal. This is a part of the autobahn.

i like the flowing lines of the car's lights but i would like some more detail in the road (ie. non-moving objects). that being said, it is an excellent photograph

@powerbook.blog: Nothing wrong with posting to 1200 groups if that's what you want to do. It just makes it look like you're desperate to have people look at this photo. If it's your favorite photo, dude, go for it.
By impersonal, I mean, there's nothing that makes this photo distinct from any similar photo of lights on any other highway. This picture doesn't say "autobahn" to me, it says "technique" -- and what I like to see in a shot like this is something of the artist in the shot, something that tells me why you took *this* picture.
Does that clarify?

anyway, originality of subject matter is tough, but for all the highway pictures I've seen, i think this one is well composed and thoughtful. and highway shots definitely don't make me as nauseous as flowers/sunsets/kitties
