This is my mom, my niece, and my sister riding the Paris metro for the first time. We were a little worried about getting lost and you can see it on everyone's face. I love this memory because it's an in between moment during a very big trip.

This is my niece fast asleep. We ate very late in France and it was hard for her to adjust. She often slept right through breakfast. We bought the flowers the day before from a blind man in a very small town in the Loire Valley. We felt sad for the man but he seemed to have so many friends in the town so we didn't feel sad for long.

This is my sister and my niece together in one of the many cathedrals we visited in France. It was a rare quiet moment for the two of them and I think my sister was enjoying that thought. They had never traveled so far from home and they were away from her husband (and Elsa's dad). I think she was feeling proud of herself for going on the trip and also thankful for that quiet moment.
