Looking away

Taken while hanging out of a moving 'Indian Railways' train early in the morning.

This was a difficult shot to pull off - low light, moving train, hanging out with one hand gripping the railing and frozen fingers. I guess I am a Flickr Addict!

A lovely shot and a great sense of movement. I like the way the blur decreases the further away from the camera. It's a great composition as well. Well done!

The person just ahead of you peering out makes

There are two factors that make the photo great rather than okay (in my eyes) "the personal" with the guy looking out of the train and "the motion" of the train.

If I have criticism, it is that there is a lot of texture, grain and contrast but not much differing colour - maybe a black and white contrasty/grainy version would give it an edge or a heavy colour saturation?

Considering what you were doing at the time of shooting this is a remarkable effort. The motion blur to the right makes me dizzy looking at it and the curve of the train leads into the distance nicely.

There is a lot here. I like it yet I am not satisfied with it. the scenery is not terribly pretty. The head out the window is great. Too much foreground. The curve is great.

Funny thing is, I posted this photo of mine, of the train and track and next day saw Flickerites Pandiyan and inu post similar photographs

A couple of weeks earlier, I found photos from 5-6 people that looked remarkably similar to this one of mine - Silken Fire

I definitly think your addiction is a good thing - bringing such fabulous photos - love the motion and the train that continues forever - reminds me of a game we played as kids - counting the carriages of trains that passed as we were travelling by car!
