Maze 2012

Maze 2012

The maze is a little larger this year: about 80 x 32 ft. About 22 varieties of cherry tomatoes (including grape tomatoes and other shapes).

The dark lines are just the soil that was wet from the drip line.

Boston Duck Boat Tours

Boston Duck Boat Tours

The Duck Boat is a WWII amphibious vehicle designed for beach landings, particularly Normandy. It was really designed as a one-use transport. Someone bought four of them surplus and started a tour service around Boston, both on the roads and in the Charles river. Since Boston is an old city, some of the roads are too narrow for it, but there's a lot to see anyway.

We've lived near Boston nearly 30 years but this is the first time we took the tour. Worth it.

The military designation for the Duck Boat is DUKW, which is where the name came from.

Gillie sees an opportunity and doesn't hesitate

The neighborhood is quiet today so we allowed Gillie to escape for a while.
