How do I get on to the birdtable!

The bullfinch is on the RSPB Amber status list.

Taken during a brief sunny interlude yesterday. I hate the grey weather we have been having. Every year birds take pieces of the reed thatch from the birdtable roof so we have to gather more reeds in the autumn to repair it.

I am sorry to keep posting images of the finches we have visiting us this year but they are so beautiful I am watching and photographing them when I can. We are now down to a pair of goldies and a pair of bullies I am hoping they are nesting locally so we can see some babies. Fingers crossed...

Eyes Right!

These snow geese are part of a small local group who appear as soon as the grass starts growing and a few of them nest near the lake. Fingers crossed we might see some babies again this year. As with many of the waterbirds in this area they arrived when the old gravel pits had been dug out and then they stayed.
