This was done in Elements. Mine are definitely
quick and dirty jobs, and all I'm doing is
selecting a small area by hand, making a new
layer, then running a gaussian blur filter,
increasing the blur as I move away from the
focal point. I haven't taken the time to
learn how to use the gradient mask feature,
which Elements has too.
Neat photo. It makes me think, what is it
about a photo of a minature that makes it not
look real. Is it the fact that, given the
angle of view you'd have to shoot with a
f/.25 lens to get that depth of field?
Looking at it from a small version of a photo
you can tell it isn't real, but there isn't
enough pixels to decern any telling details.
Is the light too even, even for an overcast
day? So why does a photo still look like its
taken of a model? I'm sure the people who
made LOTR must know. Or maybe this photo is
of a real stadium, and I'm just crazy.
Its a real stadium, and I faked a tilt-shift
effect with Photoshop by selectively blurring
the foreground and background. And boosting
saturation to give it a model-like color
effect. Glad it was fun to puzzle over--its
not one of the best tilt shift fakes out
there---the group tiltshift miniature fakes
has some amazing examples, or you could hunt
for some in my favorites.

As much as I hate Ohio State (I'm a Michigan fan - that's right), that is a great picture. The effect makes it look almost surreal.

Love it. OSU vs. Michigan eve and I found the pic I was looking for to put me in the spirit. At the office. At 9am...

Class shot...the blur effect really makes it.
Strange the way it affects the scale in this way. Nice one.
