Forgotten beach

This photograph was taken last 24th of December. Supposed to take photos into a different beach closer to Tampico, but it access was closed. So I decided to go a few kilometers further (… like 30). To this beach, I arrived after sunrise, since I not have a 4x4 I left the car and walked like 1hr and a half under the bright sun before to decided that it was time to get back … (and to receive a phone call asked where I was on the 24th0). I didn’t take a single photo since all was flat. A couple of hundred meters from the car I decided to take this photo with a long exposure and I decided to frame this forgotten “palapas” when I started my walk 3 hours ago … I need to stay that since it was flat cloudless and not inspiring at all, it should go on sepia. So as a training shot was not bad at all. Also as you can see I have been very busy also my wife is pregnant and on her mother house and I waiting for “the” call; therefore I’m hesitant to go out to take photos outside of cell range. This photo expresses my current feelings …. The clock is ticking and nothing … but you are expecting something great … and nothing. My original plan was to take tons of photos and process them once our baby arrival. But in the current year I only went out once … and nothing relevant to take. Two weeks ago I drove 14 hours looking for photos … and nothing. Perhaps I reaching a boundary and I shall to give the next step … How knows… For know I’m eating my finger nails and waiting for “the” call.

This photo was taken after a unsuccessfully sunrise… due to the gray cloudy & soulless sky, when I quit and get back for my backpack I saw the sun reflections my only move was to turn the camera on the tripod (I have a ball head) as quick as possible I started to shoot on the fly. At my second try with a more respectable framing the magic was already gone. Therefore always level your tripod. =)

Esta foto fue tomada después de esperar varias horas por el amanecer, solo para toparme con un cielo gris sin magia. Cuando renuncié por ese día y me voltee por mi mochila vi cómo se iban formando los reflejos en el cielo 1 a 1 de izquierda a derecha como armónicos, entonces reaccioné y solo pude girar la cámara en el tripie y encuadrar lo más rápido posible y empezar a tomar las fotos … en mi segundo intento ya con un mejor encuadre se perdió la magia casi al instante. Moraleja siempre hay que nivelar tu tripie antes de usarlo. =)
