This photo was badly out of focus, but the composition is just so nice that I had to do something with it. So I gave it a sort of faux Lomo look.
As long as you can see the girl's smile, I'm good.

She's putting a dot of red lipstick on the boy's forehead-- a bindi? This was (is?) a common thing to do in China for a photo session with a kid. I do not know why. I've asked Chinese friends, but the answer is always something vague, like it's for good luck or wisdom, or something like that, but never any explanation of the origin of the practice.
