I Need Toys. No, Really. Read Below.

I mentioned last week that I'm having a toys on Polaroid show here in Minneapolis in June (edit: it has been moved to November). I have about 60 photos shot so far and have about 10 more lined up to shoot next week. I'm aiming for 100 but as large as my collection is and even though my equally immature peers have loaned me some of theirs, I'm still running short.

So, I thought I'd ask you, my flickr friends, for some help. If you have a toy or toys you would like to lend me briefly for a photo-shoot, I will, in return, put your name and website (if you like) in the thank you/credits section of the accompanying book and I will also pay for shipping costs both ways if you are willing to send me something.

I have plenty of Star Wars, 50's metal robots and designer vinyl stuff and I'm not so interested in any pre-school or baby toys, games, or stuffed animals. I'm mostly looking for figures but some non-figure shots such as View-Master and the Fisher Price record player will be included. I will be pretty picky about what I shoot so don't be insulted if I think your toy isn't quite right for the show. It has to meet a lot of criteria: colorful, interesting, iconic, and it has to have a certain charm or evoke a sense of nostalgia. Here is some of what I have so far.

If you think you have something that might work and you want to share it, please send me pictures or send me a link to pictures.

I'm mostly looking for toys from the 60's through today including but not limited to:

    Gumby & Pokey
    Major Matt Mason
    Stretch Armstrong
    He-Man
    The Hulk
    Star Trek mego figures
    Jem
My Little Pony (yeah, that's right, so what?!)
    M.A.S.K.
    Thundercats
    Big Trak
    Tron light cycle
    Voltron Masterpiece Edition
    Barbie
    Six Million Dollar Man
    Vintage Mattel football or soccer
    Evil Knievel
    Dukes of Hazzard
    A-Team
    Easy Bake Oven
    Planet of the Apes
    Play-Doh Barber Shop
    Transformers

    Thanks!

As much as I would love to be a tiny little part of this & help you out I don't seem to have anything you want (Simpsons & Scooby Doo figures, various Sanrio do-dads). No Incredible Hulk, but I do have a Hulk Hogan figure nailed to the wall (yeah, I'm serious). ;)

I have two toys, they are more modern though. The mouse rubber looking ones, just can't them home... Maybe they are at my folks. If you're keen, I can get my sis to take a couple of photos of hers.

I have a vintage grover-riding-in-a-rocket toy that might work for you. I'm told its an old McDonald's toy - its metal and hand painted (which means the paint is also chipped).

I'm not expecting you to want to use it, since I have a wacky sense of awesome, but here's a photo - just let me know if you want it!

yes to My Little Pony toys. I have tons of them at my parents, I was a little obsessive.

I'm going to check with my roommate, she was/is a big Jem fan, and she may have something (or maybe other toys I don't know about).

I'm sure you know about this, but there's aToy Show coming up next week! It's called "Fat Albert Spring Toy Show" on Sunday, April 13th. At the Medina Ballroom 9am to 3pm. (West on Hwy 55 from Downtown Mpls) I don't know if it's worth it, but I just picked up this postcard today!
Super cute little guy holding your sign. Looks like a good worker.
