Blue Fairy

A blue fairy we spied in the Celtic Camp at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin.

This photo made Explore! It's the first time I've actually seen my own photo in explore without using FD's Scout to find them. Thanks for all the views and favs, everyone. I've added this to my "Top 12" as it's one of the best shots I've taken recenty.

Neat shot! Very effective use of light and shadow to create a fanciful mood.

Thanks everyone! This was my favorite shot from the day ... I spent a lot of time post-processing to get it "just right" and hope I nailed it. The only thing I thought about doing differently was to add a soft-focus effect or zoom-in blur effect but in the end decided to keep it simple. I don't like to use a lot of special effects, but this photo maybe could have used it.

Very rough translation of the above:

Since long ago they have been telling me
      that the dreams die,
that the revolutions do not exist,
      that the hunger is satisfied,
that the heart breaks and learns to survive...
Although our time no longer is a youth among my hands,
still today it drenches me the look of recognizing the beauty,
they are a drought of my mouth with which to strike at the unjust thing,
the fears are forgotten by me with which hope visits me.
Where I want to always be going to seek you to caress
with you together the face of Life.

      OF THE BOOK "ROUTINE MATTERS".
(please correct my translation if I got it wrong! It's been a while since I studied Spanish, que lastima!)

Found your stream through "Shooting to learn..." and have enjoyed going through your pics! I especially like the part in your profile about finding mundane everyday things to make special -- I could not agree more -- that is some of the funnest photography ever -- I think!! I had to stop and comment on this -- the colors, composition and thought in this photo are all amazing!! Great capture and the bokeh off this lens is terrific!! I LOVE Ren Faires and some of my better pictures were from one -- not to mention fun!! Thanks for sharing these!!!

This is very beautiful and I found it whilst looking at a tag search of the most interesting images taken in my home town, Bristol. Of course I meant Bristol England but I was thrilled to see this.

Gorgeous light, lovely colours and a wonderful composition makes this a stunning portrait! :)
