Sow thistle and hoverfly
Fringed puccoon
Lithospermum incisum. A little wildflower found occasionally around Austin whose fairly showy blossoms normally produce no seeds. (The seeds develop from tiny self-fertilizing flowers later in the season.) These trumpet-shaped flowers are about 3 cm long and 1 cm across.

Another great purple hairstreak
Atlides halesus, on an agarita bush near Onion Creek, Austin. It looks like a flap of one of the hairstreak appendages is torn, which I think is why the dark blue upper side color is visible. (Doesn't hurt the photo any, though, and maybe illustrates that the appendages do indeed work to fool enemies if it was damaged by some predator.)
