Sorry to everyone that thought these few katrina pictures was taken by me. I hereby appologize to the photographer and everyone here.

I merely took these pictures to upload in flickr so it will not be down if i directly link them. All i wanted to do was show the world how bad katrina hit new orleans and how we can help them through my blog.

I have no intention of showing these pictures and take them as my own.

    sincere appologizes.

Are these actually your photos? I mean, did you take them yourself? The photo credit for the newspaper I just mentioned was for Reuters, and on your own blog you say "All pictures taken from Google News And some from Cnn and Some from wikipedia".

you've a clear and moral obligation to cite a credit for any photo you post Flickr that you YOUR BLOODY SELF didnt physically shoot. Its not hard. Even posting with a simple "AP" would at least serve as our flag that, while provocative, the image was cherrypicked & reposted.

I dont think Flickr needs to be so snobby with their "we're an intentional artistic community" and thus alienate the *REAL* value in reposting, photographic newsblogs, et al.

but in the same breath, you're no different then a linecrossing scab if you post images such as these without giving credit.

      do the right thing.

i did credit the place i took it...just i did not write it here...sorry again

terenceg, its all good. its all about giving credit, being clear, being upfront.

the pile-on you're feeling is very real. because you posted these images without citing a credit, you posted these images as your own. they STILL dont carry credits or acknowledgements.

Flickr needs people such as yourself. Sincerely. During the London Bombings, i was glued to Flickr for the very same reasons i've been doing Katrina tag searches for the past 96 hours.

Flickr has become a news source for me rivaling any other traditional outlet. Provocative images (whomever took them) coupled with active comments by educated people is a super-rich mixture that i never want Flickr to lose.

      whiskeypunch,

sorry that i misled you and the whole world. is really my intention to use flikr as a place to store my pictures so i can link them. like photobucket but that site is not reliable.

if you see my blog, i use all these picture to send a message to the world that we are fragile and pray to the victims of katrina.

it is clear now that you'll have to remove these images from your photostream, regardless of your attempts to give them proper credit.

please be advised that Flickr has (finally) officially updated their Community Guidelines, mandating that you may not post images to your photostream that you did not yourself take:

      DON'Ts
      * Upload anything that isn't yours
This includes other people's photographs and/or stuff that you've collected from around the Internet.
