I went on a 2 day trip on thursday, just got back. Got quite a few rather nice shots from new locations. This is a waterfall not too far from the town of Borgarnes, can't for the life of me remember what it's called.. not very big, but quite stunning:)

At first i had a feeling of some very light "sepia" effect but the blue skys on the left makes this photo as real as it gets.

Cool. I've got a $200 voucher for B&H and I'm trying to decide whether to get an ND400 with it. I'd really like one but they are expensive and I could get a few other, cheaper things instead. Ah, decisions, decisions.

Stunning arrangement - - I'm so drawn to the lowness of the clouds that along with the water sandwich this image (looks like you could get on a ladder and skim them with your hand) and the waterfall 'staircase'in the far distance. :)

Beautifully composed, everything works on this one, movement, frame, light. Chapeau. Nice partners that 10-22mm and the nd400, but the real partners ofcourse are your eyes :-)

This is one remarkable landscape photograph. The long exposure makes this all the more special.

Check the ND400 filter that you get. My copy scratched very easily and has a strange residue on it. I havent had time to return it yet but plan to do so as soon as possible. That said, the filter enables lots of cool effects.

It is somewhat of a pain to switch filters so that it is bright enough to focus, I might switch to a Lee system instead.

  35. _rebekka (74 months ago | reply)

@jauderho: i agree, removing the filter in between shots to focus and compose IS a major pain, but something i've just gotten used to. What's a Lee system?

  36. jauderho (74 months ago | reply)

_rebekka: A Lee system is like a Cokin in that they use an adapter to hold filters. I've been thinking about getting a set since this allows you to a) use more than one filter at a time and b) more control over graduated ND filters.

The other advantage is that you can just drop in or remove the filters. Much faster.

Google should show some quick links.

    Beautiful composition !

  38. kemuri (74 months ago | reply)

This is amazing. A very melodramtic sky just adds to the image compositon. Really beautiful. Perfect exposure too, not burnt. You use the nd filter?

  39. kemuri (74 months ago | reply)

Oh and the Lee system sounds good. I may have a look on ebay ;)
