This is my first Spartan. Holy. Number one. Wow. Now THIS project has had me working my ass half off...And its finished. /:D
I'm not sure what to say. This will kinda become a standard build for Spartans of mine, I guess.
So...what you actually want to hear me talk about.
That chest, my success of a chest, is made from scratch. Almost everything on him is. The majority of it is made out of thin plastic plates/sheets cut from a Lego panel piece. That thickness is the same as the thickness of the wall of a brick, which is a 1/2 plate. THAT, I used in a few places here, but I just take things to the next level. That 1/2 plate I sawed in half vertically, giving me a 1/4 plate (minus a little for the hobby saw) little sheet. And holy sheet, did I utilize it! Chest, vambraces/forearms, hips, the Recon angled parts...Ah yes. The helmet.
Can you guess what its made from? :3 A regular Lego standard helmet and a cut up visor. Oh yeah. I think there was about 2.5 hours spent filing for the helmet.
And he has his symbol, and decal'd UNSC logo (It is, unfortunately, not great IRL or in the photo because of the dark blue background and my protective coat for it is semi-gloss). Besides that, everything else on here is painted using the same technique as my digital camo. (Speaking of which, I'm working on more of that, hang tight.)
Also clarification in case you were wondering: Hazop left shoulder, JFO right shoulder, standard chest, Recon helmet.
More pictures of the assault rifle later.
I was saving that for Chiefwat?
Please enjoy, I have spent a ton of work on this guy and really, really appreciate feedback. There is much more Spartany goodness coming in the future, as soon as I get some Pro-Create sculpting clay you will see some 'characters' and later, Noble Team. Thanks!!
