Rockaway Beach

Rockaway Beach

I managed to get this shot before a rogue wave put me and my equipment out of the game this evening. It was shaping up to be a super sunset before my waders were filled with Pacific Ocean and I had to call it quits.

Pier sunset

Pier sunset

Last evening in Pacifica and I missed the good light. I positioned myself so the post lights on the pier were just visible but I had to choose between making the lights "stars" or softening the waves. I did a little blending to show more detail on the side and bottom of the pier. As I was setting up one big wave had me running and I ended up with my tripod legs getting tangled between my legs sending me to the sand, after looking up I was relieved to see only two people watching gravity humble me.

Shark Fin Cove

Shark Fin Cove

I went on a google+ photowalk with some other photographers at Shark Fin Cove last night. There was not much color but we all had a great time. The surf was pounding pretty good so there was a lot of mist in the air which made things a little foggy.

Which way does the wind blow?

Which way does the wind blow?

Something a little different for me. A little fog and some creative processing. Hopefully you will enjoy it.

Marin Headlands

Marin Headlands

I posted this image earlier today but took it down because I didn't like it. The light last night just didn't work but this spot is really good and I would love to see some other shots done here. A lot of people just stop at the top of Hawk Hill and don't continue along the coastal road but it's beautiful. I will be back here for the shot that's been in my head but it's going to take a clearing storm at sunset and so far winter skies have been a huge let-down.
