coffee art

At the Pioneer Coffee Roastery in Yandina. These folks know how to make a great cup of coffee, and check out the fancy work with the crema and foam.

Check out their Web Site for more examples of latte art.

HOLY MACKEREL! That is just Awesome in every sense of the word! Wow. How do they do that?

    3. Gilfer (80 months ago | reply)

Years of practice, I'm guessing. Did you follow the link? Some of the ones on their web stie are even more impressive.

Wow, that is amazing! I'm glad you took the photo before drinking it.

I am already a coffee addict. If the coffee I drank looked anything like this cupy, and tasted half-as-good, I would have to be committed!

      Great shot!

It looks fantastic, but I have to question its authenticity :) It's too perfect :)

Cool - i've see a few of these - but this one is really good one.

WOW! These guys are coffee artists!

    12. Gilfer (80 months ago | reply)

@muzzi: you doubter, you! Although I must admit I had a moment of doubt myself when they served it up to our table. I had to do a double-take and inspect very closely before I really believed it.

@maxvida: they're far better with coffee than I will ever be with photoshop!

@phototherapist: nope, they work fast. it was piping hot super tasty.

      very good :-)

    18. SavageWave (80 months ago | reply)

      It certainly isn't Star-ucks!

    19. Gilfer (80 months ago | reply)

SavageWave: Darn straight it's not! I'm sure Starbucks would miss the point entirely and come up with some kind of machine that does this automically, maybe with stencils and a brown dye or something.

    20. SavageWave (80 months ago | reply)

ha! totally. and then market it at an inflated price while calling it 'cool'.

I'm suprised there's not a "Latte Art" Group. Not that I'd start it - I'm just not talented in the Latte ARt category.

that´s really great. is it done without using a spoon? is it poured that way in one fluid motion, or is a tool used? i´m curious, because generally people can only achieve hearts and rosettas/leaves without using a separate tool.

    32. Gilfer (70 months ago | reply)

Cheeky and Cubby: They use tools that look more or less like a toothpick, and a few other tricks I'm sure. I didn't actually see them make it, but I've seen a few photos and things since.

Check out this video to see someone in action.
