Charlie and the Contraband - 3

Charlie and the Contraband - 3

My friend Justin (pictured) is the bass player for this band which played at Cowboy Cafe this weekend.

I shot with my D700 and a couple lenses, the lighting was horrible... I was at 6400 ISO, and I ended up in manual mode at whatever the largest aperture I could and between 1/30 - 1/60sec. A tribute to the D700, the files have plenty of info to play with, I still ended up favoring a b/w conversion because of the multitude of odd color's from the random lighting in this small bar. The 105/2 DC really shone in part because it was the widest aperture I had available and also given the crappy lighting I preferred to zero in on specific things...

My friend Justin is the bass player for this band which played at Cowboy Cafe this weekend. This particular shot is of the lap guitar which was a new instrument to me, really neat looking.
