单(one)枪(gun)老太婆(old lady)>.<~~~~~~~ cool~~~ sometimes my friends and I like to pretend 双(a pair)枪(gun)老太婆 (a carline with two gun each side) of corse,my gun is my hand:P
I shared (from the bottle mind you) nearly
half a bottle of bourbon with him to get one
frame as I bought some crap from his roadside
market...he didn't like the camera...but
after I drank with him a minute...(again out
of the bottle...then chased it out of a
2-liter PepsiTM)I asked him if it was cool to
get a picture to remember him by and I drove
on down the road...Southern generosity...but
always with a caveat...this one was a .357 I
believe.
Thank you guys and gals for taking a look and
taking the time to add a comment or mark it
as a favorite...you just never know, it's one
of my favorites because of the real story
that goes along with it and given the fact I
had little time (and a fuzzy head) to get
little more than a quick snap I wondered if
it really said anything to anyone but
me...Volare...please send pictures of you
pretending to have guns...ahem.
HaHa...isn't living in the South great...the
rest of the country is sooo much
"better" than us. It's taken me
quite sometime to realize that living where I
do, traveling where I do is not only
"okay" but culturally it's really
where I want to be. I love NYC, Chicago, etc.
but I also love Acme, West Virginia, Muddy
Ford, Kentucky, Bobo, Mississippi and
Shorter, Alabama...I stopped apologizing for
be a redneck and just learned to further
explore what that means.
Hey tread, I've selected this image as "Redneck Photo of the Week" for March 16-23. If you'd be so kind
as to scour our pool for your successor and post your choice by
next week, I'd be much obliged.
Congratulations! This image is currently one
of Flickr's most interesting photos for 11
May 2005 (Two years ago today!). (It is on
page one of the calendar view.) Would you
please add it to the Interestingness pool? It would be a great addition!

Good God man. That is one magnificent portrait. Everything about it is perfect.
I would feel much more at ease however if he would shift that barrel to the other side of his leg. Damn that makes me all kinds of nervous.

that's usually the case with the best characters...it's tough to get close enought to get a good portrait. kudos to you for going the distance.

Tell me that's a whacked out piece of straw on top of his hat...it's magnificent.
Susan B. [deleted] (86 months ago | reply)
Wow. This is mindblowingly good.
I'm preparing a shrine now.
tread (86 months ago | reply)
The straw hat...my guess the bottom of a planter thing...and yes, that is a feather in the top of it, albeit a spent one.
Susan, when you get the shrine finished we can compare it to the one I have for your naked shoulder; )

One of the reasons why I love the US. I wish we had the same laws for buying and owning guns.
Classic picture. I love it.

The hat, the hair, the gun and the lack of teeth - too good to be true.
tread (86 months ago | reply)
I'm sure he had teeth...in his pocket.
