Photo shop design taken from original pen drawing. Added with a variety of previously made textured papers. Finished by changing the contrast to achieve the blue palette. I expanded this idea by using the same image changing each colour to create a pattern series appropriate for a gift wrap design.

The inside of the shoe consists of the plastic bag manipulation method. This is where strips of plastic bags are placed under high heat which then mold together to create one pattern.

The metallic flower detail is exposed at the back of the shoe. The simple yet effective embellishment was created by denting numerous yogurt pot lids using a blunt pencil, then rubbing treasure gold over the top to enhance the pattern. The yogurt pot lid was then stitched into and finished off with beading. The heel structure is made out of cardboard cones and covered with felt i made myself. The main side paneling consists of layered off cuts of organza, stitched onto with burnt out holes going right through the shoe. The circle pieces are from an energy drink can, firstly hole punched the stitched on to. The front sweet like pieces are rolled up prices of felt covered with organza wrapped with tissue paper. Organza was then burnt and shrunk which finished the rim of the shoe off.

Initial ideas for the recycled shoe project. The original shoe I worked with was a simple lace up heel purchased from a charity shop. The designs are drawn using an ink pen and acetate, combined with scanned samples to help show the visual outcome.
