arms that surround like the sun

    Newer Older

i went driving up a mountain the other day, hoping to find the local lookout at the perfect time to capture some of the bokeh lights in the valley below. instead i found some kids making out in their car at 4:30 in the afternoon, and zero bokeh lights yet (still too bright out). but i did find warm sun, and state game lands, and snow that hadn't melted yet.

i'll be away from flickr for the next week-ish, we're going up to massachusetts to be with my grandpa and other family. the tests came back positive for cancer, and an aggressive, fast-moving kind at that...i never thought i'd be typing those words. we're going to try to spend as much time with gramps as possible.

in the meantime, i hope you all have a bright, warm, hopeful week ahead.

This is lovely. I am sorry to hear your grandfather is so sick. If you will happen to be in Berkshire County and need a break, I'm nearby.

thank you, you're amazing! we're about 3 hours away from you, near the coast. so probably not close enough :(
i'm so, so sorry for your loss. strange similarities, since i lost a parent when i was 19, too. although, it was my dad, not my mom. losing people definitely does not get any easier the more it happens. this i have learned.

What a beautiful and delicate sunlight in a seemingly 'unremarkable' scenery...
Stay warm inside, Sarah. I hope you can have all the family time you need.
      I'll be thinking of you.

love that bokeh off in the distance from the filtered light between the trees. I'm sorry for you and your family... lost my grandfather that way, I pray for better luck for yours.
