My chickadee scoping out the treats

i used to think chickadees were easy to shoot. I was wrong, wrong, wrong. It is very cute how they will grab a peanut from the feeder and then fly away. However, this doesn't work well for getting them to sit still long enough to shoot. Oh well. He is a cutie.

This was a nice little distraction from working on my taxes...

When they aren't afraid of my camera chickadees will spend several seconds trying to pick out a seed.

Your chickadee is very different than mine.
I spent the day out in the snow but i would have preferred to be on the beach honestly.

Wow . . . your chickadees are really different!! I will agree that
they are very hard to shoot! I have a hard time getting their
eyes to show up. I also love how they take that one little seed
and fly away. Do yours sing a little ditty when they fly in just
prior to taking their seed? That really kills me!!

Lovely shot. This type of chickadee is quite different from those found around here (black-capped). I find it so interesting learning about all the varieties. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I've only seen one other type of chickadee, a Carolina.

      Thank you so much.
