Phew!

Phew!

Happy to announce that ‘Pakistan Through a Lens’ has opened at Redbridge Museum London. The three-month long exhibition will also travel to five different UK cities at a later stage and back to Pakistan in due course.

Initiated to counter the slanted media coverage of Pakistan, the emphasis has been to portray an ethnically homogeneous, religiously tolerant and culturally diverse Pakistan. Based on the acronym Pakistan the show is divided into 8 categories, presenting work of 26 native Pakistani photographers.

My thanks to those who made it a success.

* Most notably, the wonderfully talented photographers.
* Redbridge Museum management.
* Crucially, the sponsors. Its been manic curating it and pursuing the sponsors at the eleventh hour but alls well that ends well.

Surely, putting together this show has been a lesson in Pakistaniat itself!! Hell yeah! Regardless, its been worth placing Pakistani people, places and photographers on the map. My motivation first and forever.

If you are in London then do visit. Otherwise, we might bring it to your neck of the woods.

The exhibition poster depicts a Thari Woman at the tomb of Sachal Sarmast at Daraza Sharif, Khairpur, Sindh.
