      So what do you think was going on around this house that there's just one left all by itself? I know there were a lot of frame houses in this area, most of which have deteriorated. It seems strange that they would have built a bunch of frame rowhomes and then a brick one in the middle and it's unlikely that a house this size would have been built as a freestanding home.

      There are two other rowhouses of a similar vintage at the end of the block, so I assume that the others in the group burned or deteriorated to the point that they were razed. I don't know for sure, though.
