Peering into Henry's Garage

Peering into Henry's Garage

A Closer Look

A Closer Look

We are looking further into Henry's Garage this morning. I wonder what Wheelers is like today as we've just had a snow storm? Last weekend it was spring-like and crowded with visitors, but not this weekend, I imagine.

Henry's Garage at Wheelers

Henry's Garage at Wheelers

Continuing with the Wheelers series, I turn my focus (so to speak) on Henry's Garage. This is an example of HDR processing coming in very handy as a normal exposure would leave the inside of the garage in shadows. We will look inside the garage in the next day or two.

White Rose was a Canadian owned company back in the day. I'm not sure when the company disappeared, but it was the service station that my family used back in the early to mid-sixties.

I don't often say this, but this would best be viewed large (as would most photos by most posters).

The Birds of Wheelers

The Birds of Wheelers

With apologies to Clyde.

Please bear with me for a few more days as I post more photos from our visit to Wheelers Sugar Camp on Monday.

Birds kept coming to the feeder as we ate our pancakes. It was a joyful day.

This Downy Woodpecker was our first visitor.

Edit: A birder has ID-ed this as a Hairy Woodpecker rather than a Downy.

Tim Wheeler's Blacksmith Shop

Tim Wheeler's Blacksmith Shop

I plan to post photos from our recent trip to Wheelers Maple Sugar Camp for the next few days. I took this photo from our table, The lines that you see are for piping the maple syrup from the bush to the boiler room, just on the other side of the restaurant. While we ate, various bird visited the feeder. This was a woodpecker: Downy woodpecker I believe, but I'm not a birder so I stand to be corrected. I will likely post some closer shots tomorrow.

There are several artifacts that I haven't tried to hide from shooting through the glass.
