Grandmother Who Objected To Gay March Is Accused of a Hate Crime

She wrote a letter objecting to a pride-style march that came near her house, and the police came round to warn her that she was comitting a hate crime by doing so.

Yes, it does seem a bit reactionary, considering everyone has a right to complain about stuff.

Of course, then you carry on reading and find out that her letter included her opinion that "gays had lead to the downfall of ever empire" (the rampant & debauched homosexual orgies of Queen Victoria being a prime example, of couse) and you realise that, yes, when there are potentially hundreds of people marching through a public area that's difficult to keep clear of weirdos hurling nail bombs and the like, a letter stating things like that probably will ring the odd alarm bell or two, even if it IS from a grandma.

Still, the Daily Mail continues to be incensed by such an over-the-top reaction all the same.
