Interrupting my London uploads to talk about how much I hate the 35mm perspective and how overpopulated Singapore has become. More about how I hate 35mm.
I have no problems at all with 28 and 50 but I am completely lost and witless with a 35mm. It just doesn't look right no matter how I look at it. No dramatic wide effect of the 28 yet has a loose frame; no aesthetic perfection of the 50mm yet restrictive with what it captures. Worse still, it captures a completely different image from the one I frame with my mind through my eyes. I'd have to position myself such that I see the elements of the picture in proper relative positions to each other..AND THEN take 2-3 steps forward such that what I see becomes distorted through my eyes but captures 'properly' through the lens, but even so, it still looks distorted. Best 'standard' lens for street photography? I think not!
I'll just bear with it for the moment until the m43 Leica 25mm f1.4 is released.
