Cracking long exposure, I like the way you
have managed to capture movement in both the
sky and the water, which seems to emphasise
the static nature of the island in the top of
the frame. Wonderful.

Stunning Rob, was up there a few weeks ago,
taking a few guys from a tog forum on a
Beacons trek. Guessing this is shot from the
Fan end rather than the pontsticill end?
Whichever... It is a fab shot. Clouds and
exposure make this with a lovely subtle bit
of foreground!
Stunning capture, so very beautiful - LOVE it
:) Congrats on Explore with it too :D

Thanks M, I've been wondering myself whether
that might be the case. Ah well I'll do a
little adjustment :)
Edit...
Michel I've darkened the island a little.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the constructive criticism. I'll
try to get the "on black" link
working, but in the meantime I've added you
to my friends list so you can see it large.
Cracking shot Rob. Re: VOB - Always works for the Author, but
never for everyone else? Try Darckr. www.darckr.com - works every time - no matter whose
viewing.
Hey Rob, I really like this a lot, very nice
work. do you get problems with a vignette
with the P series filter holder at the wide
end of the 10mm sigma?
Prefer this composition to the portrait - as
the wider view and wonderful sense of
movement give more power to the island as a
focal point. I like the visibility of the
under water rocks - a sense of being at the
threshold of different domains for the
imagination - under and over the water - very
Celtic ! The colours of the island in the
portrait version a little more intense than
this - would prefer a little more colour
here, but not too much.
this one is wonderful too. i think the
islands is too center for my liking, had it
was placed off center with the slope line
leading down to the trees and with the water
movement ... the shot would have more impact,
just my humble opinion.
i like the vertical version better between
the two.

Classic Rob Hudson, the tone of the water is great. You could have done with Seans inflatable rock for the foreground though. :-)
