The lines in this are absolutely amazing. The straight lines of the couch...the lines of your form...amazing. I hope all is well today. :o)

This is a lovely picture. Turns out you didn't leave your mojo in your other pants, you left it in your lingerie drawer!

Everything about this picture is excellent: the subject, the pose, the colors, and especially the close crop. A favorite!

Interesting -- I agree with what everyone else said -- the lines, the colors -- but somehow my eye is drawn to the close crop at the top, which feels a bit claustrophobic. I wonder if more wall at the top would work. I'm sure you tried it, right?
elladog (64 months ago | reply)
@synecdoche: you know, i didn't try a different crop at the top because we have a huge painting on that wall and i felt it took away from the image. then again, it's a nude so it might have worked. i'll go back and look at it again. but i agree that it feels claustrophobic and think it could use the same amount of wall above the couch as floor beneath it. thanks for the feedback. i think you're right on.
dramamath (64 months ago | reply)
As for the crop, and this is just the mathematical side of me, I think it works. My mind divides this into four regions: the space beneath the couch, the lower part of the couch, the space between your left side and your right shoulder, then the space above your right shoulder. The inner two layers are about the same size as are the outer two layers.
Of course, that's the problem with my mind: always trying to incorporate the freedom of art and the exactness of mathematics.
