Mid East meets Mid West on Fifth Avenue

    Well trained bodyguard - he watched me very carefully.

    That day was dedicated to Henri Cartier-Bresson and Marina Abramovic of whom I'd read blurbs in the press. Both have a retrospective exhibition at the MoMA. I finally went last week. The least I could do is take a few street shots, on the way - as a token personal tribute.

      Powerful, and close-up form of Street Photography - brings real presence to intriguing subject. How did you know whom the guy is that the "body-guard" is covering?

    8. NYCandre (36 months ago | reply)

      @Deborah - I try to keep it in mind too, NYC is so distracting ..
      @lynn - yes definitely - so is Soho, Astoria, the LES, and the Meat Market, oh and (you name it) ..;-)
      @mo - good thing I was in a light mood ..
      @Metrix - thanks for stopping by
      @John - I didn't know him (tho was tempted for a moment to chat with them, dunno why I skipped the occasion, hmm maybe I didn't want to lose my HCB frame of mind) .. and I'm quasi certain he was someone 'important' .. at least important enough to have a handler/ bodyguard. How sure am i? pretty sure.. only some computer database somewhere could verify this now ..
      Or maybe he'll be kind enough to say hello ?

      He spotted a threat. He is trying to figure out if you have a gun or a camera. Bodyguards are extremely stupid.

      @vision - no idea how stupid they are .. didn't really want to find out ;-)
      @anthony - not exactly from the hip, about chest high, but yes, without looking through the eyepiece. Pretty happy I nailed it in one shot ;-)
