After following the guide here, my google talk account can now utilise AIM buddies as well. Here's an example of some of the fun you can have; the windows/buddy lists you see belong to Psi, Google Talk, and Trillian respectively. I'm still not sure how one goes about adding an AIM buddy via GTalk, as it seems to just send a validation e-mail that's never delivered.
Of course, the next version of GTalk will make the need for this obsolete, but it's fun for the time being.

Are you running the windows Google Talk client on mac os x with Wine/CrossOver Mac?
