Our Daily Challenge - Eccentrity
Driving back home I saw this burnt out car and thought that it might make a good prop for a self protrait on the subject. What beter way to capture eccentricity than with some eccentric behaviour. As I was shooting this photo I felt very excentric especially as the cars drove bye wondering what I has doing jumping in and out and on top of the burnt out car.

As I took the last shot of the session it came to me to make it like I was just stepping out of the car and asking the question "Hey what happened to my car?" I also made decided that it would be good to dress up in some props as well, hence the snow boots and my really old ski beanie.

The photo was taken with both a 0.6 ND filter and hard grad 0.6 ND filter to make the sky pop and the colours seem more dense.

Gerard 1980, big t 2000 (Tony Heussner), and Photomaginarium added this photo to their favorites.

totally awesome use of filters! love this shot, Simon ... the car is an amazing find! absolute Mad Max all over it ... and the boots really add to that desperate for more gasoline feel ... though the BEANIE screams "eccentricity" like a 15 year old at sold out 3-hr long rock show.

    fave.

    =)

Very fun shot..... and clever take on the challenge. Besides the great effect on the sky I like the soft transition from the hard grad.

Thanks everyone. The car should be fine with a little polish and maybe some armor all on the plastic if I could fined some.
The comments have been fantastic and much appreciated. I am enjoying using the ND filters they take a bit of getting used to of exposure, but are very fun to use.
    Cheers

Haha, great take, ODC definitely promotes eccentric behavior, especially by those of us who choose to do self-portraits (must be crazy...). It's when we start getting out in public that the funny looks start!
