This is Detroit's skyline from underneath the "halo" of the Labor Legacy monument in Hart Plaza. My brother (who is going to CCS and whose art you can see here) is a Halo video game junkie, so he loves this monument. His nerdiness tends to rub off sometimes, which is why I titled this shot halo. I prefer viewing this one large.

This is gorgeous! Perfect composition and the colour is warm and alive. Beautiful, beautiful job.

Excellent! BTW, this is harder to get than the St. Louis arch, because this thing is just a few feet taller than 60 feet. It's meant to be a small monument, not a focal point for the river, and not even a focal point for Hart Plaza.

Southen, do you think you could get a view of this monument, at night, and this same view at night time?

Can certainly try. I was thinking how different this shot might be at night. Something I will definitely look in to.

Wonderful perspective, and great monotone colors. Not crazy about the frame, but it's a very minor complaint. Score 8.5/10 (from the Score Me! group)

Detroit looks like it's got some great Chicago-esque density back there... nice!

    22. s o u t h e n (62 months ago | reply)

The CBD has some good density. Once you get outside of that though things arent so dense, but were working on it.

      Great job. Congrats.
