    I'm guessing that these ones are just stopping here briefly on their way back to their breeding grounds in the Arctic or Russia.

      Ok Gale, I will do that as soon as I can get my computer working right, or get a new one. It's gone all screwy, and one of the symptoms is that I can't click on any of the things above the pictures.

      The light on them is spectacular against that dramatic sky.

      I had a similar problem with not being able to click on the Fave, Notes, etc. above the pictures or the dropdown lists above them. After a complete uninstall (losing all of my settings) and reinstalling my browser (firefox), all was well again. Good luck!

      Thanks for the nice comments! It does look like a dramatic sky, but in fact that's a mountain in the background - Grouse Mountain on Vancouver's north shore. The diagonal white bit on the top left is one of its ski runs.
      I got my computer running ok again by installing a backup of the registry that I had made over a year ago - turned out to come in handy!

      Beautiful lighting on this one ... well, I guess we'll have to wait until next fall to get my lifer shots.
