the green ascent

This Seattle Central Library escalator takes visitors up to the
"spiral stacks", a unique architectural characteristic of the
building. Instead of floors, the library stacks spiral upward
allowing people to walk between "floors" without the need for stairs.
And yes, the escalator is fluorescent green and appears to glow.

Added to group "Cream of the Crop" 08/01/2005 as my most viewed photo (to date).

Featured in top 10 for "Interestingness" on 07/30/2005, whatever that means.

Wonderful shot, that intense colors are great. The escalator contrast very well with the lamps above.

      Amazing viewed large.
Has it been this colour for long? I'm sure I would have noticed when I visited a few years ago. I remember being impressed by the architecture.

Thanks everyone for the great comments!

@ algo: I'm not sure when they did these colors, the seattle central library opened in 2004 so I'm not sure when you saw it. This was only my second visit.
