Macro Oil

Macro Oil

As Vicki was making blueberry muffins this morning, she measured cooking oil into a plastic cup measure, added the oil to her batter, then dropped the cup measure into a pot of water in the sink. A few moments later she noticed that the excess oil was slowly bubbling to the surface as nearly identical drops, and the drops would join together into the above-pictured hexagonal lattice, even when the lattice group was some distance from where each bubble broke the surface. It was a marvelous thing to watch.
