Audrey & Ben's Wedding Cake

    This was a three tiered vanilla sponge cake with buttercream frosting and a layer of fondant.

      How was the fondant? Was the buttercream under the fondant, or in between the layers?

      The fondant was pasty and sweet... The buttercream was bleh... but at least thin layers betwen the three layers of cake and also coating the cake between the fondant and layers of wheaty goodness. Well, I should say it was normal vanilla sponge (for sure oil based) as it was very moist. Reminded me of a cupcake.

      There was also a dessert buffet bar with i.e. cheesecake dusted with edible gold, bars/squares, tarts, flans, bread pudding, mousse cakes, tortes, etc. I should also add that I was first to get a slice of the cake (it just happened to be that the man serving it started cutting it up when it came to my turn in the line). The server took the MIDDLE section and sliced it into wedge pieces (!) and cut it into something like 12 slices and gave me a slice!! It was a 2.5 inch wide slice! Probably enough for at least 6 people. Only after my slice did he start portioning off slices that were 1/6th the size! So I thanked him, but returned my huge slab(!) and got a smaller wedge... as well as a bit of other non-choco desserts.
