The crepe myrtle tree is fantastic colors, setting this corner off so well. The fir is a treat, too. You know, green shutters work well, it's just that this green is too strong for the pastel tone in the bricks. Consider a more muted or natural green. One with a touch of gray maybe, like "sage green" or something?

Yes, it's just not the right green and I'm the one that picked it out... I can't blame Don:-)
I was even thinking the Espresso color I'm using for trim in the house. the expresso color is a very black reddish-brown, or another color I thought would work is a chocolatey-maroonish, ... oh, that might be called a "raisin" color for lipsitck anyway. I had not thought of the gray-green. (maybe the color of the silver curls of the Korean Fir)
The bricks are a funny color. Like a slightly muted terra cotta.

Thanks Tabby Fan, I seem to fix it up... then let it go, then work hard to fix it up again. So, right now it's got many small new plants and my determination to try much harder to do the necessary maintenance.
